After reading through these perspectives it is obvious that libraries will continue to grow and  to change at a fast rate and it is necessary for library staff to embrace this and move forward with it, for the benefit of library users worldwide.

Library Thing

I have added 17 books to my Library Thing account. I have so many books and really enjoyed adding just a few to my bookshelf. I can see that this would be a great tool to organize your home library or a small library, such as a church library. I am looking forward to spending more time on this. I am very keen to check out the libraries of others with similar interests to myself.
See the link to my catalogue below.

Podcasts

Here is a link to the 2011 National Book Festival podcasts.  Hoda Kotb's podcast is well worth listening to. Podcasts are a great tool to use in accessing short talks on a variety of subjects. I can imagine that this tool would be an asset for librarys. Libraries could provide access to podcasts which would cost the public or be unavailable to the general public.

Here is a link to a clip I found in a Stack on the Delicious profile page. I am not sure if I can actually embed it from this link in Small Flicks so I am going to find it on YouTube and then embed it. Here goes...!

RSS Feeds

I think the RSS feeds are a great tool. I enjoyed searching for topics of interest to me and I am enjoying finding the feeds on my IGoogle homepage. I have chosen a range of subscriptions. They include; The Mercury, Book Journey, Focus on the Family Daily Broadcast, Library of Congress Blog and Plugged in Movie Reviews. I have also found a feed for ALA TechSource showing the latest in library technology. These types of feeds would be very useful in keeping up to date with the latest technology and resources for libraries. With technology advancing and changing so frequently, RSS feeds are a great way of keeping up with this.

All's good! I have worked out this posting on my own blog issue! So here I am again, just proving it to myself and to others. :)
Once again, I am having so much trouble commenting on my class mates blogs! I am finding this so very time consuming and frustrating. grrrrr....I am thinking of reverting to Australia Post for communication!
I am even having trouble commenting on my own blog!

I have enjoyed using my new Delicious account today! I have bookmarked two sites on Volkswagen kombi vans for sale, my favourite Christian fiction author - Karen Kingsbury, a daily devotion by a Christian motivational speaker - Joyce Meyer and Amazon books. I can see that this tool could be great to allow easy access to my favourite sites and to help me find sites which I visit and then have difficulty finding again!

When I did this exercise in class I did not correctly embed this YouTube clip. I could just edit this post but then how will Leanne know that I had even attempted it at the time! :) I will attempt to embed it again!

Jill and Rill

This is a photo of two of my daughters when they were little. I used www.picnik.com to add features to my photo. Unfortunately I played with the teeth whitening effect on Jill's mouth and I could not remove it!
